67th Edition of the Shediac Lobster Festival
My Community... My Festival!

Shediac, June 1, 2016. - It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the Co-Presidents of the Shediac Lobster Festival Inc., Mr. Michel Boudreau and Mr. Jacques LeBlanc, are ready to unveil the schedule of events for the 67th Edition of the Shediac Lobster Festival, which will take place from July 6th through July 10th, 2016 in Shediac.

Everything has been put into place to ensure that the 2016 Shediac Lobster Festival will be an event that people will not soon forget. The Organizing Committee has worked relentlessly over the past year to present a program that will surely please every member of your family.

We are now ready to welcome all visitors, confided Jacques LeBlanc, Mayor of the Town of Shediac and Co-President of the Shediac Lobster Festival. The 67th Edition of the Shediac Lobster Festival will be of high quality and will emphasize on the culinary and local products.

The Main Street Lobster Supper Event
The longest lobster supper will be served on Sunday, July 10 at 5 p.m. 1000 lobsters will be served to 1000 people sitting at a 1000 ft. table in the heart of Downtown Shediac. Tickets are limited, don’t miss out!

Buskers, Circus Stella, Dance Chaos, Dance Envy and different musical shows will will be at different restaurants and bars and will entertain the crowd on Main Street during our closing ceremony. It all starts at 4:30 p.m.
We would like to welcome back this year the rides of Campbell Amusements. We will have many recreational activities for all ages including entertainment for the entire family on stage, the children’s parade, sporting events, and, of course as much lobster as you would like.

A 85.6 ft. Lobster Roll!!!
Celebrating the 67th Anniversary of the Lobster Festival, the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce will attempt to break our world record by preparing a lobster roll reaching over 85 feet, 6 inches long. A friendly competition will take place this year with the Town of Charlottetown. Join us and enjoy!

Ales & Tails Event
This new activity has been added to promote location products in our region. Ales & Tales will enhance the Lobster Festival Program. Come savour local craft beers with a taste of lobster and seafood bites. An exciting evening awaits you. This event will be held at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre on Friday, July 8th at 7 p.m. You don’t want to miss this event. Tickets are limited!

Corks & Claws Event
This activity had such a huge success last year, Corks & Claws is here again this year! Come savour vintage wines paired with a taste of lobster prepared by local restaurants and chefs. An exciting evening awaits you! The festivities will be held at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre on Saturday, July 9th at 7 p.m. You don’t want to miss this event. Tickets are limited!

Chef Chuck Hughes
We have invited a special celebrity who will sure know how to add some spice to the Festival. He is also a talented star of such Food Network Canada and Cooking Channel shows as Chuck’s Day Off, Chuck’s Week Off and Chuck’s Eat the Street. He is also the youngest Canadian chef to win on the Iron Chef America, he participated to the 4th edition for The Next Iron Chef: Super Chef. He joined an all-star panel of judges on Chopped Canada and he published two Best Sellers. He is co-host with Anne-Marie Withenshaw in the series “À couteaux tirés “ and in the Fall he will be launching a new TVA series in Quebec - “La Relève “.

Three creative and fun activities for all culinary lovers. These activities will be held on Thursday, July 7th.

Lobster Roll with personality competition – Restaurant chef edition. Our local chefs will compete to create the best lobster roll in Shediac. Come and see the extraordinary creations and show your support. This event will be held at the Multipurpose Centre from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Lobster Roll with personality competition – Home cook edition. You love to cook for fun? Send a video of your lobster roll creation as well as your recipe. Three finalist will be chosen and will come and present their creation to Chef Chuck Hughes and other local judges. One winner will be crowned! This event will be held at the Multipurpose Centre from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Good Luck!

Table Art of the sea! A one of a kind culinary event in Shediac! Spend the night with the company of Chuck Hughes while savouring artistic creations made by our own. This is a first! There will be a book signing session. This event will be held at the Multipurpose Centre.

Music Aplenty!
We would like shine light on our «Music Night» at the Moosehead tent with musicians Three Bobs and Big Bad Party Band taking place on Friday, July 8th starting at 8:45 p.m. as well as our « Rock Night » on Saturday, July 9th at 8:45 p.m. with 9 Mile River and Angry Candy. Come and enjoy!
